A first look at the < b > next < /b > generation of Google TV

Back to Google i/O it was Announcemed that would get a new version of Google TV, based on Android 3.1, and Google was looking for willing participants part of the developer preview synchronized the program "Fishtank" be. Now, Google has shipped packed with Google TV their new reference hardware 2.0 Beta, and now we have can we expect our first look at what.

Details of the current software is a bit hard, but you can see from the images, the Google TV team has done a pretty good job of porting the system Combs. The result is an interface, the for looking like Google TV as it is for looked like Combs is so familiar. But this is a slightly slimmed down version of Android 3.1, and it has currently only live TV and clock apps, as well as a full version of Google chrome for web surfing (apparently it has a bit a back and forth is between Google and developers on the open API for the live TV application).

The reference hardware runs on an Intel CE4100 chipset specifically for Internet TV devices and has far more ports than included for the first time Google TV devices originally. The back of the box fishtank looks more like your standard DVR or cable box and includes a coaxial connector and component video connections, possibly hinting that this new version of Google TV a HD signal over HDMI (as now, live TV or only functions of the HDMI connectors) required. There is no telling when these connections for future Google TV hardware will remain.

Earlier this week we saw Google TV devices are starting to show up in our Android market component lists that we hope that the update on Google TV 2.0 would come soon. From the looks of this preview, the Google TV team has still some work to do before they can send the update to "early adopters".
